Dr James Francombe
James Francombe is a consultant colorectal surgeon at South Warwickshire Foundation Trust Hospitals (SWFT). James also holds practice privileges at the Warwickshire Nuffield Private Hospital.
James gained his primary medical qualification in 1991 from The University of Liverpool. He has been a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England since 1995. James passed the intercollegiate exam in General Surgery in 2001. He spent a year as a colorectal fellow in Sydney, Australia in 2002. He achieved accreditation to perform laparoscopic colorectal surgery by the National laparoscopic colorectal surgery training program in 2012.
James is chairman of the colorectal MDT and Lead surgeon for colorectal cancer services at SWFT. James is the clinical director of colorectal surgery and gastroenterology. He is also a clinical tutor to the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
James has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery (keyhole surgery) for colorectal diseases.
James also provides an expert opinion for all aspects of gastrointestinal disorders. He has a subspecialty interest in perianal conditions notably rectal bleeding, fistulae, fissures, haemorrhoids and incontinence.
